Fire with Exposure - Parkersburg Turnpike
Monday, June 19th, 2017
On June 19, 2017 at 19:27 hours, the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company, along with our neighboring companies, City of Staunton (Engine 2), Churchville Fire Company (Engine 4-7, Tanker 4-5) and Churchville Rescue Squad (Rescue 4-8), were dispatched to a fire with exposures. While enroute, Augusta County Emergency Communication Center (AECC) advised there was an automobile on fire inside of a barn. Chase 14 (Deputy Chief Chris Botkin) was first to arrive, advised Augusta County Emergency Communication Center (AECC) of an automobile on fire inside of a barn, with smoke showing from the structure and initiated Parkersburg Tpke. command.
Crews quickly knocked down the automobile fire inside of the structure and checked for extension of fire inside the barn. Command placed the incident under control a short time later.

On May 10, 2017 at 14:22 hours, the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for an Automobile Fire with "flames visible" on Route 262 at Morris Mill Road.Engine 14-5 responded with three personnel and arrived to find an automobile on the southbound shoulder, fully involved with fire.

On May 4, 2017 at 04:31 hours, the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched as automatic aid to assist Verona Fire Company with a dispatched working house with flames showing. Augusta County Fire & Rescue Battalion Commander 3 arrived on scene and reported fire from the second floor window.

On April 13, 2017, at 10:46 hours, Tanker 14-7 was dispatched as part of the Tanker Strike Team, along with six other tankers, to a working incident on Acorn Hill Lane. Tanker 14-7 and REHAB 1 responded with four personnel.
