The Officers and Members of the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company wish you and your family a safe and fun 4th of July Holiday.
Please take a look at the safety tips while using fireworks to celebrate the holiday.
Each year there are over 10,000 injures caused by fireworks in the United States.
Consider leaving the fireworks to the professional, instead of holding your own. Always read the instructions and WARNINGS on the fireworks. Set fireworks up in a clear, open space. ONLY adults should handle fireworks, most of the injuries are children. Wear protective eye glasses and gloves. Never attempt to re-light a "dud" or defective firework. NEVER hold a lit firework item in your hand, and have a bucket of water or sand or a fire extinguisher ready at all times.
Lastly, we want everyone to consider the animals in the area, who usually have a difficult time dealing with loud bangs and noises.
